Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate Fundraising and Communications Manager to lead our
fundraising and communication initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong
background in fundraising strategies, relationship management, communication and
community engagement, and will be responsible for driving the growth of our fundraising and
communication efforts
Key Responsibilities
Purpose: Drive long term sustainability of K2C through:
• Maintenance of current and donors and income initiatives
• Sourcing and building relationships with new, long-term partners, donors and
sponsorships
• Contribute towards sourcing of new income streams with focus on developing new
national footprint projects/campaigns that address sustainability and drives
transformation
• Planning and implementing our communication strategies
Roles and responsibilities
• Developing and executing fund raising strategies through setting goals and developing
strategy plans for business and revenue growth
• Planning and hosting of fund-raising events where relevant
• Fostering ongoing relationships with and other relevant role players, participate in the
development and establishment of the annual income budget for income generation
projects and programmes.
• Work collaboratively with the Management Team to target and successfully secure new
and diverse income streams
• Formulate an integrated networking plan to enable the building of relationships with
external stakeholders with the purpose of sourcing sponsorship/partnerships/financial
support to strengthen the sustainability of KTC
• Create and conduct proposal presentations and Request for Proposal responses to
potential sustainability partners Conduct feasibility studies for all proposed new business
and projects.
• Proactively address negative variances with corrective actions
• Participate in relevant donor management forums
• Attend to all the necessary reporting requirements arising from this role as well as all
internal database management process.
• Consolidating the KTC communications strategy, updating the website.
Application Requirements
Tertiary qualification in marketing, business administration or relevant field
• At least 8 years’ experience in the non-profit/Fundraising sector
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, internet-based applications and computer
equipment
• Sound knowledge of the Non-Profit sector
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Proven experience in writing grant proposals and applications to secure
funding/sponsorships
• Able to work in a team as well as independently within a highly structured and
pressurised environment
• Exceptional organising and time management skills
• Professional attitude and appearance
